Welcome!

Hi, nice to meet you!
My name is Kerry Williamson, and my husband and I have four children ages 5 to 17.  Our family has been homeschooling since 2002, and we will proudly graduate our first student in 2014.  While we didn’t join Classical Conversations until my eldest was in sixth grade, we followed a classical model for most of our homeschooling prior to joining CC.  With God’s help, we plan for all four of our children to graduate through Challenge IV with CC!
Homeschooling through high school?
As a fellow homeschool parent, I understand the concerns you may have as you face homeschooling through high school.  It can seem daunting to “cover everything”, but it doesn’t need to be that way!  The Challenge program is designed to assist you in meeting the educational goals you have for your children.  Each level of Challenge I – IV offers opportunities for your children to grow in the skills of rhetoric, logic, exposition, grammar, debate, and research.   Tutors provide a setting that allows students to experience Socratic discussion, hone speaking and writing skills, and be challenged to take leadership roles.
But what about dual-enrollment/college credit options?
If you have an older homeschooled teen, you may be considering other options for the last two years of high school, especially dual enrollment opportunities at your local community college, as an affordable option for college credit.  However, many parents may not be aware that several of the Challenge III and IV seminars can be taken for college credit through a partnership with Bryan College.  Additionally, the subjects studied in Challenge III and IV are excellent preparation for CLEP or AP exams, both of which are economical ways to gain college credit.

So, tell me more!
Challenge III seminars (content) include: American History, Shakespeare/Poetry, Philosophy/Logic, Chemistry, Latin, and Advanced Math. Of course in each of these content areas the skills sharpened are rhetoric, logic, exposition, grammar, debate, and research.
